Cadillac Opulent Velocity Concept: An Electric Future That Will Not See the Light of Day

Cadillac Opulent Velocity Concept: An Electric Future That Will Not See the Light of Day

Cadillac is accelerating in the electric car segment and is presenting its future with the Opulent Velocity Concept.

While Cadillac is entering the electric segment with the Lyriq and the Optiq, the American brand is exploring its future with luxury cars. This is what the Celestiq and the Sollei Concept are announcing, the convertible counterpart of the limousine and the very distant heir to the Eldorado. And Cadillac is adding another layer with the Opulent Concept.

It was at the Monterey Car Week that the American firm unveiled this spectacular style study. Cadillac is also hinting at its status, which means that the concept will not come to fruition, even in small series. However, we can see here some ideas that would be retained for a possible electric supercar.

What does the Cadillac Opulent Velocity Concept really announce?

And for good reason, since the concept puts the package on equipment that will probably not see the light of day in a production car in the near future. This is the case of illuminated wheels or the head-up display with ghost car function to improve its times on the track. On the other hand, the level 4 driving system or the instrumentation integrated into the steering wheel could become realities.

The brand has not given any information on the powertrain used for the Opulent Velocity Concept. However, we can easily imagine the presence of a 111 kWh battery and a pair of electric machines for a total of 608 hp, as on the Celestiq. But this is only speculation, on a concept with a much too esoteric approach for the moment!
