The Mini Cooper range is now available in two very distinct vehicles: the thermal version, an evolution of the previous generation, and the electric version, a brand new model designed in partnership with the Chinese group Greatwall. Despite this duality, Mini intends to offer a similar range between the two versions. So no jealousy, and the spiciest John Cooper Works version will be available in both thermal and electric versions.
After its official photo session on the Brooklands circuit, the prototype of the new electric Mini John Cooper Works will be presented at the Goodwood Festival of Speed from July 11 to 14. He should take part in the famous hill climb there. Prototype, therefore no total reveal of the vehicle. However, this is clearly not the style from which the surprises will come. Judging by the photos published, the exterior appearance of the vehicle appears to be strictly identical to the JCW finish already available.
It is therefore on the mechanical level that everything will happen, and the JCW E should therefore offer more than the 160 kW / 218 hp to participate in the fanfare return of the “hot hatch” in electric version, alongside the Alpine A290, MG4 XPower, Smart #1 Brabus, Lancia Ypsilon HF or Abarth 600e, Kia EV3 GT, while waiting for a Volkswagen ID.2 GTI…
