Cannes Film Festival – The BMW XM Mystique Allure puts on a show

Official automotive partner of the Cannes Film Festival, BMW this week unveiled the BMW XM Mystique Allure, a unique creation inspired by top model Naomi Campbell, and is providing celebrities on the Croisette with a fleet of 200 electric vehicles.

With the “Dare To Be You” campaign launched last year, Naomi Campbell is back in the spotlight. The BMW XM Mystique Allure is the first BMW vehicle designed with high-end materials. This collaboration between the top model and BMW is both daring and very chic. The choice of purple, a symbol of rarity and introspection, seems in obvious harmony with this car. This unique electric model, with a matte and glossy finish, modernizes the haute couture materials of luxury textile manufacturers and presents a link between the exterior and the velvet-covered interior. 

On the technical side, the plug-in hybrid powertrain delivers a total power of 653 hp (480 kW), composed of a 4.4 liter twin-turbo V8 of 489 hp (360 kW) and an electric motor of 197 hp (145 kW) integrated into the eight-speed transmission. The assembly generates a maximum torque of 800 Nm, combining up to 650 Nm from the combustion engine and up to 280 Nm from the electric motor.


A fleet of 200 electric BMWs for the occasion

The BMW XM Mystique Allure is the star on the Croisette, unveiled by its famous godmother. But that's not all since, as an official partner of the festival, BMW also provides a fleet of 200 high-end electric vehicles for organizers and guests, thus ensuring their travel throughout Cannes. Among this electric fleet, we find in particular the BMW iX, BMW i5 and BMW i7, all electric.
