Hyundai Ioniq 6: a restyled version is expected for summer 2025 in France

Hyundai Ioniq 6: a restyled version is expected for summer 2025 in France

Hyundai plans to update its electric sedan. The Ioniq 6 will be entitled to a refresh. On the program: some aesthetic changes and technical updates.

A new Ioniq 6 for 2025

According to Korean media ET News, a restyled version of the Hyundai Ioniq 6 is expected for May 2025. Launched in 2022, the model will just celebrate its 3rd anniversary. The South Korean manufacturer never waits very long before updating its models. Usually, the norm is around four years. A prototype of the new Ioniq 6 should be presented next month.

Mass production will be launched in February 2025 for the South Korean market, in August for Europe and in November for the United States. The Asian firm plans to manufacture 60,000 units of its new electric sedan each year in South Korea. So, what should you expect? There will be some aesthetic changes. Bumpers, lights and rims will probably be revised.

Hyundai will certainly replace the 77.4 kWh battery that the Ioniq 6 currently benefits from, with another of 84 kWh. As on the new Ioniq 5. On its little sister, this allows you to go from 507 to 540 km. A similar improvement in the case of the Ioniq 6 would mean that the maximum range would increase from 614 to 650 km. It's not much, but it's still worth it.

A sports version for 2026 in Europe?

A Hyundai Ioniq 6 N could arrive next. This sporty version of the electric sedan is expected for September 2025 in South Korea. Its launch in Europe could therefore take place at the beginning of 2026. Hyundai plans to manufacture 6,000 units of the Ioniq 6 N each year at the Asan factory. In Europe, the price of the Ioniq 6 N could be around 78,000 euros.

Finally, to meet the demands of the American market, Hyundai is also reviewing its production strategy. Currently manufactured in the country of morning calm, the Ioniq 6 could also be produced in the United States, in Ellabell (Georgia). With local production, Hyundai will be able to make its electric sedan eligible for the $7,500 bonus currently in effect.

The Ellabell production site is still under construction. It will be ready in November 2024. This factory will be the manufacturer's first to be entirely dedicated to electric cars.
